Adopt a writer.

Okay, so here is the pitch for adopting a writer -

There are a lot of writers who are struggling for one reason or another (I'm one of them) and they need a little bit of help...so I was thinking, how about we see if anyone would volunteer to be a sort of writing buddy. When I first started on RB I had a small group who helped me learn how to do more than one liners...they went over my posts and helped me to see where I could put more detail.

I really want to see if there are those out there willing to spend time helping people who are struggling due to writers block or just anxiety.

Please let me know if anyone is willing to adopt a writer.

Currently we have:

Romi,
Sam,
Adan,
Keo,
TJ

Any more?

I actually think this is a pretty cool idea. But maybe it could even be expanded so that it's not simply a one-way relationship.

We all have such vastly different writing styles, and sometimes our styles even vary depending on what character we're writing. I know there's a change for me when I'm writing Rain versus writing Itami.

So maybe we could look into the different formats, genres, technicalities of writing that people have and pair writers up? And maybe we don't even have to pair them, but like... Think of it as a writing Tinder app? Does that even make sense? I don't know. I'm just spitting this out as it comes.

But perhaps we could set up a small form to fill out for those who are interested. Examples of things to put on said form:

-Looking for mentor or adoptee or both [partner]
-Favorite themes, genres, etc.
-Things they wish to improve on in their own writing
-Sample of writing that they really admire [not their own/and obvs site the author]
-Sample of their own writing

There's a lot that could go into this.

I like that a lot. My main idea was just to get people writing together and helping each other out of writers block - and I think working on a different style/theme could really help out with that.

Would anyone be up for doing this?

Like Romi said, a writing version of Tinder where writers can find writing partners to suit their needs.

Well I'm clearly up for doing this. So count me in.

I think this'd be really neat. Especially for hermits like me.

Why not? This should be more successful than my actual Tinder account.

Part of me really wants to try this, but the idea of trying to write again just scares me.

That's what I want to change, why don't you give it a shot? I'm going to set up a discord that people can join. And it doesn't need to be RB writing it can just be writing of any kind.

I wouldn't mind adopting and being adopted.
