Hooboi, this one really had a lot of great insight. It is my pleasure every time I get to see not only what's important to people, but what makes up this city. For a refresher, you can read the debate that preceded this poll HERE.

For this voting session we have 10 options of which you can pick any combination of those you feel are the best choices. The winning traits and abilities will be graded on a curve based on the highest voted option. As per usual, this poll will last for three days.

Vote honest, be heard.

We are halfway through the polling period for this debate, so make sure to get your opinion counted, if you haven't already.

Thus far I'm finding it interesting that an ideal leader is a problem solver, but nobody gives a hoot about charisma.

Well then good people, how do you explain Capadocious or Archangel or Lucius? You don't think charisma was a factor there? Name me a leader who was powerful and respected who didn't have fistfuls of charisma!

Also, in fairness, that was my dump stat here too. Did not vote. Still a surprise though!!

I think some would argue they had buckets of charisma but ultimately weren’t the best leaders.

I ended up not contributing to the discussion because it would have come across as self-gratifying.

To address the charismatic/inspirational thing: more often than not, these big personalities are figureheads at best. They attract attention and bring people in, but the heavy lifting is done by people who work in the background. A leader doesn't exist alone - it's their support system and the people around them that give them the power they wield, and knowing how to foster growth, create a good support system, and then maintain it are far more valuable skills.

We have arrived at the conclusion of this journey and what a tale it told. If you're looking to be a leader or a better leader take head of your peers and their consensus, because here is what cuts the mustard:

Ability to see, hear, and tend to problems, feedback, and grievances: 23

Own your failings and mistakes: 20

Be able to organize and focus people AND visions successfully: 18

Be humble, recognize you are merely the head of a whole body: 17

Have an eye for finding and growing good talent in others: 16

Empathy for their people and, most difficult, for those outside of their faction: 13

Stepping back from time to time (to allow others to lead) or simply because you know when to STFU: 13

Be a teacher: 13
