Personality:

Amaya is the embodiment of controlled chaos. She loves laughing and making others laugh. She can be selfless in her compassion and generosity, but harsh in her revenge for being wronged. She prides herself on her wit and intelligence, often taking time to consider her responses before speaking. When she doesn't, she is known to be a bit cutting with her wit, but rarely cruel.
She is open-minded, loyal, observant, respectful, and kind, but she can also be stubborn, petulant, forgetful, rude, thoughtless, and inappropriate.
Her playfulness hides a darkness and a deep pain that she will not discuss except with her closest intimates.

History:

Amaya was born Charity O'Reilly, daughter of a fur trapper and a seamstress, niece of a very wealthy Boston merchant who happened to possess the controversial view that female children were just as deserving of education as his male offspring. She was fortunate that she not only attended a dame school, but was given private tutelage in languages, mathematics, and other 'scandalous' subjects when it came to educating females.
Her mind absorbed the information like a sponge absorbs water and it wasn't long before she was assisting her uncle in planning shipping routes, predicting shortages and abundances of goods, and growing the family fortune. It wasn't uncommon for her to write one letter in French and then turn around to write another in German.
She was also well-versed in the feminine arts of managing a household, cooking, sewing, knitting/crocheting, embroidering, and such.
At the age of 19, after many of her contemporaries were already wed and mothers, she met a man who's name she refuses to share. This lead to her being exiled away from Boston into the wilds of Virginia. She used her skills as a seamstress to make money until she attracted the eye of a vampire in her late twenties.
Her Maker was, like many men of the day and age, abusive of his female Childe, teaching Amaya as she was now known, to fear, to hate. It was during the fifty years after her Turning that she visited London for the first time and met the Necromancer, Dusted Blood. Dusted saw her and saw something in her. Dusted Blood was the first male to defend her by killing her Maker who intended for Dusted to sacrifice her.
After that, Dusted and Amaya ventured out, sometimes together, more often not. Amaya had a way of getting involved- perhaps overly so- with mortal affairs that Dusted had little to no interest in. The two friends journeyed and learned and eventually stumbled across Ravenblack City, a haven for the unusual.
Amaya fell asleep for a long while soon after her arrival, wearied from decades of adventure and not quite healed from her decades of abuse. Dusted watched over Amaya's rest, providing her with clean clothes, the latest gadgetry for when she awoke.
The Amaya that rose was not the same one that fell asleep. There was a desperate need for acceptance, for frivolity, for excesses that the Empath had not formerly possessed. She was out of control and didn't realize it.

Amaya's Rules:

1.) Trust no one until you can trust them... And even then, don't
2.) A friend will provide an alibi without question.... A best friend will help hide the body.... The very best put a bullet in the other person's skull to make sure they don't come back.
3.) Don't make promises you can't/won't keep... Or threats you lack the power to back up.
4.) Information is currency... Never be broke.
5.) Nothing is free. There is always a price to be paid
6.) Look pretty because while your enemy is focused on your looks, you can slide the knife in his heart.
7.) Be a lady until it is no longer an option. If you act crude first, no one will ever believe the lady.
8.) Knowledge is power. Never be helpless.
