At her core, Helvetica is a burning admiration and respect for Associate Justice, Rodney Storm. From as early as she can remember, the Associate Justice has always been a super hero who also happens to be her father. In many ways, she is like her father. Both stand on pillars of order and control with a healthy respect for the law, as well as an understanding of how it works and it's integral purpose in any group of screeching hominids that dare to call themselves a civilization. Both view the world as an amalgamation of interrelated parts in which society functions on set roles and rules, or not at all. Both take it upon themselves to uphold these roles and rules as right and true with the commanding power of generals in a war against ridiculousness and chaos.

From a very young age, Helvetica expressed her thoughts and opinions without restraint. She was a very direct child who didn't ask for things, but instead demanded them as if it were her right to have them. When told she couldn't have a cookie until after dinner, she gave the adults a chuckle by stating they would have dinner now (it was three in the afternoon at the time). While they found it cute and endearing, Helvetica, five years of age, was serious. Even until this day, Helvetica is serious about her convictions because they're based on a logical chain of cause and effect.

It's no surprise that she has a love and aptitude for mathematics. It's the practice of unbending rules, roles, and functions in which cause and effect result in ultimate truth. 1+1=2. It can never be 3, 4, carrot, or blue. Only and always 2.

Due to Helvetica's very blunt and direct form of communication, many have accused her of coming off as 'bossy', or more colorfully, a 'bitch'. At first, she took offense to this seemingly irrational opposition of her character, and assumed people were just overly sensitive, anti-authoritarian without reason (she never understood 'rebellious teens'), or unapologetically lazy and refused to do as instructed. She butt heads with strong personalities who didn't like to be told what to do, especially in school when group projects were assigned and Helvetica took leadership. It wasn't because she wanted 'to be' the boss of everyone else. She simply took assignments seriously and honestly knew how to get the work done so everyone could get a perfect score. Very few people noticed or understood that about her, however, and she bore the title of 'Mean Girl' up until she graduated high school. Her crude and off-beat sense of humor might have helped foist that particular crown on her head, though.

Helvetica can be quite witty, clever, and even creative at times, despite her serious approach to life. She actually loves to have a good laugh and might use humor to lighten her own mood when she's uncomfortable. This is a tell about her relationship with her own feelings. Helvetica is as comfortable with her feelings as one is inside of a shark tank. In fact, she might prefer to be in an actual shark tank than to face her feelings. It's because she feels she has little control over them. If she were to let herself indulge, she's sure she'd explode into a mess of embarrassing and gross personal expression that she, frankly, isn't very knowledgeable about. She has very few moral views since the act of examining moral aspects can be difficult or even ridiculous at times. She relies, instead, on law and order and social hierarchy to determine what is 'right' and 'wrong' instead of how she personally feels about something.

This isn't to say she doesn't have feelings or morals. She does. In fact, there are things she can feel very strongly about (again, her respect and admiration for her father), but these discoveries are few and far between, and when she is faced with a decision which logic or personal history can't solve, she is left to ask herself how she truly feels about a situation, leaving her to decide it it's 'right' or 'wrong' herself.
