I truly can't agree more. the world building. the lore. I live for the lore. beyond that, just the writing skill on display as well. It's so very, very good. Below, my immediate highlights:

"RavenBlack was different in that there was no One Belief held True by its denizens, and so we had no real need to overtake it. This civilisation, this city, it fights itself. We saw an opportunity here, in this Convergence. My father believed it would be in our best interest to try and herd all of you—us—into the City."

The man on the screen looks like an older version of Robert, a much angrier version, his eyes rheumy but still crackling with power and potency. Even rage. Robert's mouth becomes a thin line.

"To keep you busy," Robert says. "To observe you. To control you. To understand the source of the Convergence and see if we could harness that power for ourselves. And, if worst came to worst, take RavenBlack City off the map. Off all the maps, in all the timelines, in all the branches of reality."

All of this was a giant reminder that although these groups act as if they are in opposition, they are all dancing their part to a bigger choreography. The irony that they were speaking of the Empire and the Church is a building that was filled to the teeth with Masonic imagery as the Church pretends to be opposed to them. But perhaps that was the way to keep belief going—you have to believe in your opposition to go against them, after all.

He leads her up the stairs to the study. The walls are lined with oil paintings of their ancestors, katechons of their epochs distinguishable by the signet rings on their thumbs and the Hellenistic symbols they are portrayed holding: the kerykeion in his right hand, the kithara tucked under his left arm, the petasos never far from his grasp and the himation, the cloak, over his shoulders, always in shades of deep indigo, the colour of secrets and their power.

It's always a man. It's a man in every painting.

One of the biggest ironies is that someone can be doing exactly what they think is right and just for their own people, but end up being the vehicle of ruin for others.
they devoured, I fear.

Superb prose, right here:

It starts with a diversion. Deviance. Defiance. Discomfort. Mutaaaaaaation. That is the source of growth.
Alliteration? In my reading? Yes, please and thank you.
Anger and hurt spilled from her, the negative energy raining down to the city below in lieu of tears. Joy became a cooling breeze, letting the night's storm swirl her faster as she tried to soothe the spirit with minimal options available. “I’m tired of fighting with fate"
This is just a little example, but I love the surreal, dreamlike imaginery described during the story. Feels like a fever dream or a trip through the ether.

And it is nice catching these glimpses of the characters' lore and personal struggles.

When two writing beasts meet. FANTASTIC.

Just finished it. Loved this part,
"What do you do when you feel the fight is your calling and responsibility but just can’t get the impact necessary to invoke real change?"
It feels like a great one line summary under the episode guide. Obviously there is so much more to the lore built here, but just loved that a lot.

Also had a great time following Brock and Aydan's story: The garden escape So much emotion and lore here too. I'm glad to have caught up on it because I got to learn a lot about Aydan that I didn't know while meeting Brock!

The Guest House This one was also a great read. Getting used to feeling comfortable in a new body, while also getting comfortable just existing. I love being able to spy behind the scenes of Sapphire's growth!

While I do have something great to say about everything that's been out, I will just add one more: Who Are We When We're Not Ourselves? A very relatable journey for waking up as the opposite gender! I literally laughed out loud at the fire hydrant scene. All of the gender bender prompt posts from The Ritz and anywhere else I've been able to see them have been such a refreshing, fun read. And everyone writing them seems to be having a lot of fun, even if their characters aren't! Love a little city wide plot excitement!!

And thank you people for the kind words about Moon Motel. I had to end it on a silly note because the world is a bit dark right now and I think more fun is needed sometimes. All of the writing out right now is def a welcomed distracting light in the dark and I thank youse for all the great content out there!!!
