As an unbiased party, who very much hates the "talk shit, get hit" mantra because in the old days I would be scared for my life if I so much as breathed wrong - yes, I will actually die if a stake goes through my chest - and who commented on the volatility of some who would get triggered with snarky tone, just SECONDS before it played out, I think Pea coming here to snipe at Yawa, who understandably has been defending non-combatants is... interesting. If I'm putting myself in some crossfire for this, whatever, but this conflict is stupid and I can't actually not say something anymore, because seeing these massive apologies mixed in with people having to defend their factions is crazy. So here goes.
The fact Yawa's even defending the Peacekeepers discredits the whole power play aspect pretty quickly, AND the Oberon gaze simultaneously, as he's made it known countless times cloak and neutrality isn't something he agrees with. Yet YAWA is defending them. Not to dredge up why Pea's even commenting on it but... No one has a right to dictate when people get to reflect and flesh out their thoughts, you can not like what was said but you don't get to then try to paint a reason why it was said. That was low hanging fruit. It's been parroted by the people trying to slander them, constantly, and Pea, I think you know that. I've seen MUCH more of MADS trying to promote life into this city than I have most others. They go to events constantly, support upcoming new things and try to teach the ways of the city. Are they perfect? Obviously not, but it's disingenuous for you to take pot shots like that when Seyda's in there.
I may not be involved in vampire politics but you said I should speak more, so I will, what I'm seeing right now makes me feel sick. If it earns me a slap because I said something you don't like? Fine. But this is what I see:
Attacking a guild like that and vandalising its halls as a point to show them they can be hit even with a cloak on is more of a power play and crushing people under your heel than Yawa reflecting on something they were once in. There's no moral high ground to stand on about MADS because the difference is they zeroed abusers and people who picked the fights first then cried when they realised they'd been outgunned. I read the paper. I know people. It's not hard to source out the truth behind recent conflicts. You picked a fight with people who did not want a fight. There is a huge difference. And this is just... why a lot of us don't speak. I'm not afraid of MADS. Let me be clear. I am not afraid of MADS. I used to be when I never understood the way the culture is and when the city was much more cowboy Western. But I'm not afraid of them now because I can see they'll leave me alone because 1) I don't provoke them. And 2) They want actual fights that promotes actual growth for vampires within a city that loves to bleed.
Yet there's a group that does NOT love to bleed for the umph of it. The Peacekeepers don't want violence yet you brought it to them. Why? Genuinely. What big stand or point was that you were trying to make? And maybe I don't know history very well, fine, but I don't think I need to. Agree with them or not, isn't the purpose of those halls to avoid vials? You could have quite literally challenged her to duel in the Angeliarium which would have been much more honourable than kicking in their doors and spray painting shit. In fact, I'm sure if you did that, this wouldn't be such a shitshow. She would have either ignored the summons for a fight, in which case you proved whatever you wanted. Or she would have got to show up, prove her boldness or whatever, and it could have been over.
What I'm now afraid of is if I even thought about taking neutrality or a cloak, because now we're just slapping around to prove we can and to mind your tone, people like you and Liander have just proven even that won't stop bullies. And in fact makes me feel very unsafe. Ironic, no? Anyway, long TedTalk because seeing Vex need to come out to make a PR announcement that your stray bullet was bullshit felt crummy. And I do not understand the point of ANY of this. At least with other city conflicts you know why what's happening is happening. This one? It just looks like bullying.
