ALERT: Recent Paladin Aggression

In Varietate Concordia means to be united in diversity. I do not condone the prejudice and lack of good faith of the paladins, but intolerance breeds intolerance. It's particularly uncomfortable that someone claiming to be a peacekeeper chooses violence when the option to walk away is valid and open. If you walk away, they do not follow.

We.. we know you don't mean the Paladins right? You know they might not follow YOU if you walk away, but they'll go find a new thing to swing on. They're intolerant of your existence, you're not obligated to tolerate their's. If anything that's probably worse coz they will just go beat up a baby

...I mean, the same could be said of any other Tom, Dick and Harry in this city. A subject that keeps cropping up far more often, actually; something like 'how dare thee attack an underpowered childe'. And since we're talking about the Peacekeepers guild specifically, and not just our own intolerances, I don't see them rushing to kill the 'thee' in this scenario I'm painting. (Because they tapped outta that, see.)

I guess that doesn't line their pockets, though, does it? Not that I'm complaining, I'll kill whatever if I'm feeling fancy.

Recently I participated in an event held by the Nightwatch that involved hunting down as many aggressive enemies who threaten our streets as possible. Though my numbers are not as impressive as some others, I did win that competition. I, too, will station myself at Peacekeeper's Mission 2. I do not require compensation or notoriety, though surely speaking this will gain something from the fellow mouths of citizens. This does not make me better than anyone. I have seen what it takes to be mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared to face these enemies. They are strong, they have more endurance than can be imagined, and they are dangerous. No one should attempt to make contact with them unless they are fully prepared. Please, be safe. Know I am patrolling.


To melanctha: In the event you are reading this, please do not worry about me. Do not think I'm a martyr or that I am carelessly putting myself in harm's way. I am cautious, I am sure, and I am trained. I make this declaration and do this of my own volition because it is the right thing to do. I love you.


Peacekeeper's: You have sounded the alarm and I have heard it. Others will too. I have no doubt that the Nightwatch themselves will soon be offering their hands to help. I believe you and I will help.

I can respect making a choice to defend the defenseless when they are being attacked. I simply need to understand why you feel it right to defend those more than capable of defending themselves against a human truly incapable of killing them, but choosing actively to *demand* the city to do it for them so they can appear clean of blood on their hands.

I see no demands, Mrs. Mayor. I only see a notification of increased Paladin activity in a certain area of our city. I only see a group located there notifying the community at large and informing the rest of us what areas are currently not being patrolled. I only see a group offering their services to escort any who might need it in the area.

Whether you believe in the true death of others or not, it does not invalidate the violence experienced by any individual. I am not defending the defenseless, I am offering my able body as part of the resistance, just as I did with the Nightwatch. The only difference here is there is no prize money that I can donate back to this organization.

If you are currently a member of the guild, an aspiring member, or just in need of help traversing between any areas around the guilds, please feel free to reach out to us. Those of us dedicated to Battle Cloak will happily take up arms to defend any citizen during their transport.

This sentiment in the original post does not call anyone to arms. This sentiment clearly states that some of those who proudly wear Battle Cloak will guard anyone traversing this high impact area during this time.

I want to report that I have not seen any Paladins in the area currently. This location could be secure. Though, my partner in patrolling might have a different story. They have said nothing to me, if there is.

FOUR Paladins have been spotted and neutralized directly outside of The Peacekeepers Mission 1 (Emerald & 67th) and The Peacekeepers Mission 3 (Emerald & 33rd). One of these very Paladins attacked me on my way into the building. The other three were spotted stalking Ohana Fuentes to her office.

Is it not a bit contradictory to espouse peace while promoting and praising the neutralizing of individuals you claim were simply existing in proximity to a location? Per your statement, three of them were merely spotted before being attacked.

As someone who stays neutral without the guild's services and protections, I have to ask... safety for whom?

To help out your confusion, I am not Neutral. I wear the badge of Battle Cloak, not Neutrality. Battle Cloak is for those warriors, fighters, and skirmishers who believe in allowing the opposite party to win when they have earned it. I am not afraid to lose. I have no fear or desperate need to not take my loss and rest by rejoining a battle immediately, or by using things such as blood potions to maintain the length of my fight. Though these are valid tactics for some, they are not the ones I subscribe to. (If you find yourself asking "Well, Mrs. Matsuda, what tactics DO you subscribe to?", I would implore you to read this paragraph over again. If you find yourself saying, "You look down upon the rest of us! You think yourself better than us!", then I implore you to read this paragraph again. If you're still confused: I am better. My way is better. I will never hide that belief. If this offends you, makes you angry, upsets you, that's your problem. I will not change my views to make any one of you more comfortable, nor do I expect anyone to do the same for me.)

You sweet summer child. It is quite clear that you were nowhere around when the Cloak was created. I, however, was Co-Doyenne of the Ravenblack High Council when it was. Necro tactics were never part of the discussion. The issues that were, primarily around resting and torpor versus not, was quite the vibrant discussion. And what was discussed versus what SkyDaddy provided was not the same thing. In fact, what was provided was so far from what was discussed by the community that it was invariably shunned by the masses. Your badge of honor is a joke to everyone else. It’s okay, though. It’s quite easy to claim to be better than essentially, every war veteran in this city, when you know those veterans don’t subscribe to a blue joke. To those you have seen join the ranks of the Peacekeeper's mission and leave: They are not who they claim to be. They take advantage of deep cowardice and fear instead of committing to a true creed. They hide, and in this time that myself and the other High Councilors, we pledge to purge our ranks of those who wish to hide. What you have seen and known in years past is not the core values we have been working to relay and display as of late.

Purging doesn't sound like peacekeeping, either.

You're talking about neutralization, purges, talking about the true neutrals, and essentially staring down your nose at everyone who is not you when people barely know who the fuck you even are.

Paladins rolled into the city streets a good few years back now. I somehow doubt the so-called Peacekeepers Guild is causing enough of a stir to hold their whole and undivided attention.
