A new venture.
Today, I had the pleasure of talking to our very own Mayor Pea. I have known this woman for some time now and every day she suprises me - today is no different. It seems that behind the scenes Mayor Pea has been working on a new project. When I found out about this new venture I simply had to know what it was, so I called up the Mayor and was able to get an exclusive interview with her - so please enjoy hearing about the newest member of the newspaper gang from the horses mouth.
Enjoy, and remember to leave your comments below.

DH - So, I suppose the first question I have for you is - what exactly is this new project of yours?
LP - Well im not sure you can call it a project exactly. I reopened my Carnal Desires from a decade back. When I made the decision to do so, I wanted to work out a way to make something more...inclusive too.
DH - Interesting, so this is something you have tried before in one form or another?
LP - Carnal Desires is a club/hotel I opened years ago when I first arrived. It won me noob award actually. Even surprised how much people needed a place to explore desires they didn't even realize they had.
So I met with some business owners and well...some other ideas sprung up
DH - That sounds like it would be a very fascinating story, perhaps I could get another interview later! But, we should stick to the main topic of your new venture, I very much would like to know what went through your mind when you thought of making it, after all the city has two papers, - is there something you think we are lacking?
LP - News. That's really it. I also miss the days where the story mattered more than the bickering that comes after. The pub will air reporters that have been hired to read from each of the papers with a ticker at the bottom for siring, bindings and, severances. The paper I am reporting for is not owned by me, I am more of a facilitator really for all of these openings at once. In the end I did it because I finally realized I was trying to so hard to please so many and it was time for me to think about me. If others enjoy it too, wonderful.
DH - That is most likely the best way to do things, to do it because you enjoy it and not because you feel obligated. As an aside, I am very happy to see another news source open up - healthy competition keeps us strong. My next question deals with this in fact, what do you think this new venture will offer that Ab and Necro do not? And will you be working with us, or are you flying completely solo?
LP - I have already ensured that there are tvs that will broadcast news coming out of AB and Necro. My stories will be all in print on paper without anyone responding, but I want patrons to have access to all of it. I do have a few different directions for the paper that Necro and AB are not covering so this isn't about fighting against the tide, but like the bars, making sure everyone has a venue that fits their style. Not everyone cares for the forums.
DH - Ah, that...makes sense. I must admit to being surprised when I saw the advertisement for staff - and I was slightly disheartened as we had worked closely together. So, please tell me, what can we expect other than news?
LP - Well just some odds and ends from freelancers. Most of the spotlight will be on the bars. We only intend to do an edition of the paper every two weeks. This will not be the constant current news, hence not covering things like bindings/severances
DH - Tell me about these bars, they seem to be an interesting way of doing things.
LP - There are three. My Carnal Desires is more of a rave club with a sexual desire hotel attached. Dandelion Fire was named after my sire as a gift. It's more of a romantic restaurant with a dance floor, dimly lit and love songs for romance. The Rb Tavern is your run of the mill pub crawl.
DH - Oh, well these sound very fun - I will have to pop by once it is all set up. How long until we see this up and running?
LP - It all opened today. We wanted a quiet opening, nothing too over the top. Just open the doors and let whoever stumble in, enjoy the music. The first edition of the paper will be along sometime this coming week.
I spent the afternoon dancing alone in carnal. Though, I know my wife was watching. I could feel her eyes on me.
DH - I'll need to send someone over to do a review some time - if that is acceptable.
LP - Of course it is.
Just give it a little time and see if we fail or flop! Could go either way really. People hold a grudge pretty hard around here. It won't change much. I will dance for my wife forever and be happy now.
DH - Wonderful. Then I guess I'll have to wait and see what else your charming mind comes up with. I look forward to seeing what a success this will be for you - for now, is there anything you wish to tell the public about your venture? Anything at all!
LP - Just that everyone is welcome to dance, drink, and be who they are. It's not about me. It's about the music. It's about enjoying life for just a little while.
DH - Thank you for your time. I is wonderful to see new and inventive ventures starting up and I hope this is a trend I see starting.
LP - Well the one thing I won't do is give up. Doesn't matter how many rotten tomatoes they throw at me or how loudly they boo me. I have enough love to keep me going.
