I had the wherewithal for the former, not the latter, what with being balls-deep in depression over my sire dying and my marriage falling apart. Functioning robotically and being fully with it are two completely different things, so no, I was not mentally present or competent - aka 'around'.

I still believe that some of these things are blown way out of proportion and could be handled with a conversation. But I also know that's just me and I'm a very vocal minority in these things.


Unrelated, but I'm sorry about the depression and what was going on with you at the time.

I also battle depression. If you ever want to grab a drink or a coffee when it feels like you're slipping and you just want a chat without worrying family and friends, I'm basically always free.
