How to: Kill a Legacy
Again, context you know absolutely nothing about. I highlighted things to him, he left. But there is a lot more to my statement for you to use it in the manner you are using it. I didn't have help in the clan to run a gateway, so I refused to do it alone.
They refused to let you run a family-based gateway for a clan. And when the leaders failed to let you do it themselves, you decided to force it on the members that were left as a demand to keep the doors open. There’s your context.

You are not understanding. The gateway wasn't "for" the clan. While it had the ability to benefit the clan just like the rest of the city, it's purpose wasn't to grow Ferry. So why would I let the clan dictate it? And I didn't force it on anybody. I was trying to explain some of the things I wanted to do that was constructive. I wanted to fix the corridor, and once the gateway was active, we had to possibility, as a clan, of benefiting from it. That was the only reason I even brough it up at the time.
ETA: Also, they never refused anything. It was always in talks and just hadn't happened.
Let me help you out with your context and my misunderstanding.
“ This gateway will involve my family as a whole regardless of the clans stance on that. Those moving through the gateway will have the option of entering the corridor and the opportunity at a trial of their own if accepted by the clan. I care for you all I want to make this work, but I'm going to do it with those I love and trust.”
You all but spat on the face of your clan mates saying you didn’t trust them. You proclaimed yourself the leader and thumped your chest when you received criticism from anyone who didn’t just fall in line with your ideals.
I’m not accusing you of not trying to help. I’m pointing out that you refused to listen to any other options, and when things didn’t go your way, you threw a tantrum like a petulant child. And now here we are. The Ferrymen are gone; and you’re facing the consequences of you lashing out at your perceived wrongs.

Again, I wasn't building the gateway for the clan. I stated those moving through had the opportunity of joining the clan. Just like anything else in the city. But as I was speaking to the clan, I was trying to point that out. I know you reeeealy want to make your narrative of the article stick so keep picking it all apart. I'm... Just. its fine, you all have me to blame. Cool.
Don’t get it twisted. There were four leaders to the clan as I stated. And all of you are accountable. Liski went silent. Hells was “forced out” as you said. Vex offered his opinions, and when he didn’t get a reception, resigned. You decided to leave and attack Vex. All four of you are responsible for Ferrymen failing.
But you, doncey. You’re responsible for yourself. I will continue to pick you apart when you’re trying to weave some tale of grandeur instead of just owning that the reason this has come about, is a ridiculously simple one. Ferrymen refused to change, and to heed the voices of their own members for action.

Doncey,
Thank you for the context you've provided. I was not there and had no part in this debacle. I want to ask you a question, though.
If Vex had said in a clan meeting your exact words, how would you have perceived them? What would you have assumed and done about it?
I can almost see where you're coming from, why you believe you're right. If I might offer a piece of unwarranted advice however, I would take the time to see this situation from the perspective of others who could not read your mind or intuit your intent. It sounds to me like a lot of people had a lot of opinions on how things should have been working, but you either did not trust, respect, or listen to many of them because you did not value them as peers. That is the perception this gives, regardless of your intent.
History will not remember your intent, sir. In ten years time when this story is being retold to fledglings, how do you think it will be told? Stop doubling down, take a deep breath, and listen. Or in words of someone much wiser than me -
"Never trust your enemy's praise, but be mindful of their criticism."

This interesting considering how active members in the clan were in a way that you could “see” because many of the clan members were dead ass silent at all times in every place, weirdly until it was time for a vote. Additionally you say you reached out to *all* clan members except me because of my lack of being seen and not feeling any fondness from me yet you felt perfectly comfortable reaching out to me for advice.
This does not make any sense. But it’s all good. I think I actually understand the meaning behind the words.
Best wishes!
