Yet just about everybody that has come to us from that camp has had to have copious amounts of additional education because they do not know how to do basic things. When I was a clan leader, I had my people report to me what their goals were, what they wanted to work on, what they wanted to learn, and that feedback is what set the strategic direction of RoR for the next 6 months. And what they got in return was a leader that worked just as hard as them at not only making the clan a success, but ensuring that each of their needs were met. When I felt I couldn't do that anymore? I got out of the way because the clan was more important than me. ophelia? ophelia understands servant leadership. Vex? Vex also understands the concept and I've watched him deploy this with my own eyes over the past few months. Regardless of your tenure with PoE, YOU were the rookie in that room, and you were too busy trying to get everyone to listen to you and taking your toys and going home when they wouldn't to recognize that fact. You have a lot to learn about leadership. You had two of the best right THERE to learn from. And you blew it up because of your own ego. Failure.

I'll say it one more time for those that can not seem to understand. Our goal was not to teach every single aspect of the city to those coming through, but to insure basic understanding. We would have a hundred plus students in our halls at any given time. If I had flooded the city with those that had no understanding of the city, the general public would of lynched me. Once they were at a certain (very early) stage, they had the option of joining the city as a whole. Graduation wasn't even a requirement. There were welcome to study other aspects of the city once they were out and about and on their own or with other factions. All of that said is exactly why I wanted to work with the Angelarium because I was impressed with what they were doing. Their goals are completely different from the goals we had of insuring our city didn't wither and die.

Seyda, everything you went through the trouble of pointing out is expected. It's simply what you do. You point out others weaknesses and what you perceive as failures. Your elitist attitude is why you are so loathed. It's nothing more then typical Seyda rhetoric. You may continue beating your self inflation drum. Allow me to be crystal clear.

I remember when you stepped into the Angelarium. I challenged you to a duel -- for fun, in the spirit of learning and of the space -- because I had previously asked you for one to clear the air after the last conflict ended. I was immediately hit with passive aggression. You apologized for it. I took that apology with the sincere belief you meant it, and that you meant what you told me when you said it was everything everyone had expected out of the University and more. We worked things out, we discussed how your gateway, as you described it, could point to the Angelarium as the next step of their integration. All your words. You said you'd attempt to make time to be more available -- to learn more, to spend more time there, to involve yourself. Baby steps. Open communication. That was mid August.

I haven't seen you there since.

Did I reach out? No. Because I was there, in the Angelarium, building what I said I would. Connecting with NightWatch to start as the City's neutral supporting organization. Opening spaces for mediation. Teaching. Running the first City's War Games, which, even in spite of its failures, was a giant step towards finding better ways to navigate conflict and practical learning within the City. Even with how crippled my own bandwidth and ability to show up has been lately, I did and have shown up for the Angelarium, because it is something I truly believe worth the time and effort.

Remind me: what were you busy with again?

Who runs the Angelarium? I do. My wife does. It is our home. That is it. Those who volunteer in the Angelarium, those who teach, those who speak their mind openly within their doors? Do not run it. You were offered to do the same. There isn't a process. There aren't approvals to seek. If you wanted to, you could, and not a single person would or would even have the power to stop you. In fact, we'd be glad to have more insight and opinions from different corners of the City.

As I told you in the last conversation we had in mid August, "To be clear: I would never allow anyone, let alone a fledgling, to be mistreated unnecessarily in the Angelarium. But the key there is unnecessarily. Sometimes, people learn through positivity, opportunity -- and some need to see the City bite back before they take it seriously. I won't shy away from that belief." As I told you, "I will defend those in my home to the death if the target on their back is unwarranted. But I want them also to fully understand this City, and that means learning to own consequences of actions, if necessary."

If you cannot face the consequences of how you have treated people, if you cannot swallow your pride enough to work in the same space as people who have valid reason to criticize and be wary? That's entirely on you to own. The Angelarium is my home, and I did not treat you that way, in spite of how hostile you were to me initially when you stepped into my home. I was nothing but kind and civil to you.

My organization is not your shield to hide behind.

Respect is earned, not given because you demand it or feel you deserve it. Members of your own family came into the Angelarium, earned it and then more, and have even shown up better in this conflict than you have. And she's a noncombatant.

I don't want you to cower. I want you to own your fuck ups, stop excusing things, and do something to show there's a man still in there worth respecting at all.
