hey everyone!

after a surprise cross country move into a house with a bunch of problems (including a gas leak i discovered just before accidentally blowing myself up to cook breakfast), im finally around. and i want to thank all my participants for not only their patience in waiting for results, but also for -- well -- participating! this was a really creatively inspiring contest, and i really loved the community coming together to do something to share some headcanons and ideas of what the City is and can be.

that said, i also took what was said in this thread to heart. i have feedback for each of the entries using the same perspective and style i used for my degree in participating in and leading writing workshops. however, i dont want to shove them down peoples' throats if they don't want them! please dm me here or on discord to receive yours, and i'd love to talk about it. y'all made this very difficult for me, and in some cases, i had to break down scores to decimal points! in multiple places! so that's a testament to the quality of the writers we have and how hard this was to score.

finally, though, here are your winners!

1st place: Yawa for What Happens at the 42
2nd place: Joy for Winners and Losers *definitely heed the content warnings here, folks, but so worth it!
3rd place: Chris Vahn for The Two Sisters

please contact me either here or on discord to claim your prizes!

and, for everyone else, if you have any ideas for what another cool competition could be, let me know! i'm eager to do another one of these in the near future.
oh, where do we begin? the rubble or our sins?

Many congrats to the winners!! It was a treat reading the submissions. And thank you again for hosting this, Kris.
There had been talk about how differently writers envision the transits stations and what various experiences and shenanigans they might get up to around or on them.
I don’t know if anyone has aims to still do something like that but it’d probably make for some tasty reads.

Congratulations to the winners! I can only imagine how difficult it had to be for Anders to classify the stories; there is a lot of talent in this community!

This would be neat, I'd love to see what comes out of it.
