This year's auctions were under new management, with Smerberous and Addie taking up the mantle of auction heads with the assistance of Wyntr and GrimreaperMoon. Having taken over the auctions, this team made a number of changes which impacted the functioning of the event. The most notable changes this year are as follows:
- Staff do not take a cut, 100% of fund go to the participants
- A new section was opened, specifically designed to help fledglings
- The term 'slave' was not used - this year, the auctions had participants
- This year there was also a push to include more diverse skills and services

Buyers are expected to finalize payment arrangements by February 14th, end of day. During last year's silent auctions, 2.21 million coins changed hands, making this year's silent auction a bigger success.
The live portion of the auctions will be held at the CoF Auction House on February 21st at 7 PM EST. Buyer signups remain open until one hour prior to the start of the live auction.
