This is more of a suggestion:

Typically bindings, sirings and zeroings get 'media coverage' and draw attention. And everyone throws in their congratulations, commiserations etc.

What about a thread to declare when fledglings gain their Full Power?

Daly has a point. No one's excited about someone completing their powers because it's expected of them. Binding, siring, severing? Those aren't expected, they're optional.
I would liken gaining all your powers to high school graduation, which is mostly celebrated by family. If you and yours wish to celebrate, then you can do so, but it wouldn't be something that makes the paper the way a wedding, obituary, or messy divorce might.

I see where Daly is coming from with his option. Powers SHOULD be something a fledgling gets. However, the completion of powers should be celebrated. Depending on resources powers can take MONTHS, sometimes years for the unmotivated few. That hard work should be acknowledged. Maybe not in a 'oh hey this so and so got their powers' but something maybe celebrated quarterly. Almost, as Greyce suggested, like a graduation.

Hell, mortals still put 'congratulations class of blah blah year' in papers, radio ads, and those LED signs at gas stations.

Now, if powering isn't worth celebrating lineage celebrations. Oh, did you clan gain a new member? Did they pass what ever task was placed before them so they could be named under you lineage? Congrats. We can celebrate that maybe.

The difference between congratulating a 'Class of __' is that it's a group of people. That'd be more along the lines of congratulating a line or clan that a new member has been officiated or an obstacle was overcome.
A single person gaining their powers is more like a 18th birthday party, I guess. Everyone gets there eventually and there's nothing real special out of it other than your ability to join society as an adult. I should have thought harder before coming up with my analogy. Their line and their friends and their family can celebrate, but it's not a city-wide celebration.

This thread made me think of Van Gennep's rites of passage, which come in three stages: preliminal (rites of separation, e.g. metaphorical or literal 'death'), liminal rites (or transition rites, i.e., acquiring powers), and postliminal rites.

What's most interesting about this structure in this case is that while the liminal rites are the most important (the passing of the 'test' to prove the initiate is ready for 'adulthood'), the postliminal rite is the one that ushers the new adult back into society.

We have three rites already, but what we don't have is the postliminal rite. Maybe we should start thinking about that instead. A few suggestions for celebration:

- A bite fight
- A friendly duel with an elder to test a fledge's mettle
- Three days of liquor and entheogens??

And look how weak the mortals are for it.
