I agree. I'd bring his face forward, and maybe blend out the bottom of the layer with the road. You can see where it ends in the middle of the graphic, but I really like the gif you chose, and the expression is pleasant and doe-eyed.

I'd give the same advice.
Everything looks great, but I'd make the left side of the face more visible and then blend out the road, too.

It looks wonderful!
The fixed saturation, brightness change, and the vignette really bring out the background. I love that I can see more details in the overall image, now, and that Jacob's model's face is more clear.
