Kataya was in Shadows by the time Brom struck her with those scrolls. Maybe she wouldn't have been if she was hitting as consistently as the rest of her team, but she never seems to be making strikes against me.
What's the matter, Kat? Do I scare you? Don't let those boys keep your pretty face locked away from me for too long.

I'm very much enjoying watching this; good showing all around. Hiccups aside, you're learning to work together as teams for the first time, and seeing what is and isn't working.

“Hello again! This is Seyda St. John Wolfe-Adaire back with a War Games update! On the warfront, it was relatively quiet for most of the day and the action didn’t really pick up until the day was starting to come to a close. But that doesn’t mean that there was nothing going on. Team Shroud was hard at work all day developing what I’ll call a strategic restructuring. As of the time of this video, this work has yet to come into play so I won’t comment on any of it except to say this. Yesterday I tossed a challenge in a way that only I can, and Shroud basically said ‘I got your challenge, bitch, now look at this.’ A few of the cards they’ve put in their pocket I can only describe as a masterclass in strategic brilliance and I cannot WAIT until these things move into play.
Moving on, part of the intention of The Angelarium is to utilize the War Games as a learning experience, not only for the participants, but also for the city at large. To that end, the Committee implemented the Commentator Coaches for each squad. For the duration of the War Games, Vex de Draak will be the coach–Mr. Miyagi if you will, for Team Shroud while I was named the coach for Team Invictus. Both Vex and I have been given the following parameters in our coaching. One, we cannot suggest strategies; we can only give constructive feedback on any strategies that the teams come up with themselves. Two, we cannot disclose any strategic decisions made by the other team to our own team. Three, we CAN provide coaching and learning around typical concepts of war.
Now onto an update on the action. During the Pride Prom, Everly challenged Kataya to a duel, which she declined. So, Team Shroud committed to their maximum damage strategy and rolled out some shadow scrolling. For those of you who don’t know me well, shadow scrolling makes my heart sing and I was absolutely here for it. There were a lot of shots traded, a lot of live engagement, and at the end of the night, Invictus is still quite a bit ahead in both hits and blood. Yesterday, Invictus also won on coin, and they will continue to throughout the end. For those of you not well versed in war, maximum damage is very expensive. It’s going to cost The Shroud upwards of 25-30 thousand coin per night to pull this off. It’s a strategy that requires a trade off and one that needs to be solidly committed to. I’m excited to see how all of this develops!
For now, this is Seyda St. John Wolfe-Adaire signing off.”

“Hello everyone! Seyda St. John Wolfe-Adaire here with our update on yesterday’s action at the War Games! Weekend war means different looks and Saturday did not disappoint. The Shroud stayed committed to maximum damage against Kataya but also deployed completely differently than how they had been presenting the previous days, and it worked for them. They ended up winning the hit count for yesterday even with losing a live fight 3-0. If The Shroud can keep building on this success, they could pull the hit count even in a few days.
Speaking of the live fight, lillith and Vanitas squared off in a battle that Vanitas won and kudos to them both for getting out there and getting their first live fights ever under their belts. Both sides had a lot of fun and that’s really why we’re here, aren’t we?
A fun tidbit I have to share is it seems as if in the last few days, the Paladins have contracted with the Hunter’s Union to target Everly during this war. Not once, but TWICE did she pull up to check on the situation to take a crossbolt to the face. Just BAM.
I mentioned to y'all yesterday that Team Shroud had come up with some strategically brilliant ideas and I couldn’t wait to see them play out. One of them, the utilization of the Battle Arena for cheaper mobility, was deployed. However, with about an hour left in the day, Shroud goes on a run while Invictus is actively setting up their own. During this, they notice a Shroud member going to the same location multiple times. Invictus goes to investigate, discovers the Battle Arena. They pause, Robert takes 20 minutes to run various tests which during the MIDDLE of that testing the Shroud notices and realizes Invictus has clocked them, and now both sides have the information. Watching this play out was amazing and I’m interested in seeing how both sides incorporate this into their strategies knowing they both know.
Moving into the early hours of today, Invictus is currently up on hits and blood on The Shroud, but I expect this is ping pong back and forth for most of today. Overall, Invictus is still in the lead in all 3 categories.
This is Seyda St. John Wolfe-Adaire signing off until the action picks up again. Have a great day, City!”

“Hi everyone! Seyda St. John Wolfe-Adaire here for another War Games update. The day brings some action, MORE controversy, and the Committee moves into conference again! But first, the action. In the early morning, Aydan and Vanitas went on a run and scored a quick 6 hits. Then, while they were waiting for counter fire, Invictus went into a strategy session to break down the previous day and put some different ideas together. In the afternoon, the Shroud activates and ties the hit count. Then they shadow scroll Kataya.
Now here’s where the controversy comes in. After their run, the Shroud dispersed and all three of them were on a city limit. This caused Invictus to investigate and they discovered some suitcases planted that the Shroud cannot move themselves that seem to have grown legs and moved from their positions in the previous day. They appealed to the Committee on the basis of outside interference, and the Committee is currently in session discussing. I won’t give any hints as to what the position of the Committee is at this time as I’m anticipating them still being in session for a few more hours, but once they are complete, both teams will be informed of the decision.
For those of you who are not overly familiar with war, I want to break down what is going on in more depth since this is the second time controversy over suitcasing has happened. The suitcase strategy is when someone in a war has a partner bind or a childer that they can tug to them with a scroll to create an anchor point for movement purposes. A partner bind suitcase is the preferred method because once you read the scroll of bondage, the person can use succours to quickly move back to their anchor. Childer can be used by anchoring them with a scroll of summoning, but the scroll of parentage is more expensive and a little more unwieldy to read than a succour.
Now to recap, the first controversy was centered around Vanitas using a suitcase to create an anchor point near Brom’s home, Insanity, and the subsequent displacement of the suitcase by Everly’s associate. The Committee went into session, and ended up ruling that because outside interference was not properly defined, and due to the combination of Vanitas actively moving Oberon at his expense rather than Oberon moving for him plus lack of definition for using associates, that all of it was allowed with some parameters established around reporting and assuring everyone stays within Sky Daddy's laws.
This second controversy is because the moving suitcases for The Shroud are sires. There is no scroll or mechanic that allows for a childer to actively move their sire outside of batting their eyes and saying pretty please, so this means that either the sires are moving themselves or are being suitcased into position by their own sire and for Invictus, the plausible deniability of random movement was removed with the strategic positioning of the suitcases and said sire.
As I mentioned earlier, the day ended in a tie and some shadow scrolling. The Shroud continued to shadow scroll Kataya overnight, so they are currently leading in damage done for the day.
I have to get back into the Committee room, but I’ll be back with more updates as they occur!”
